NOIDA NEWS – Angry over not giving the side, the Uber cab driver, along with his partner, overtaked the roadways bus and thrashed its driver.
A video of roadways driver Lokesh, a resident of Khair, Aligarh, beating up with rods and sticks on Yamuna Expressway went viral on social media.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the police arrested both the accused within a few hours. Both have been identified as cab owners Ranu and Kasim, residents of Mehandipur in Rabupura. The police have also asked to inform the Uber company.
According to the police, the roadways bus carrying passengers was going from Noida to Mathura on Thursday morning. In front of the Formula One track in Dankaur, the driver of the cab overtaken the bus and stopped it. The bus driver was attacked by accusing him of not giving the side. When the bus driver Lokesh protested, the accused beat him up with iron rods and sticks.
People going on the way made a video of the beating and put it on social media. One of them tagged the Noida Police and tweeted the video. As soon as the video became public on the tweet at around 11:30 am, the top police officers took cognizance and formed a team of Dankaur police. A few hours later, the Dankaur police arrested Ranu and Kasim, residents of Mehandipur village. The cab used in the incident has also been recovered from the accused.
Police Commissioner Alok Singh has praised the local police for arresting both the accused within four hours of the tweet. The Commissioner of Police has said that a letter will be written to the Transport Department to suspend the driving license of the accused cab driver. At the same time, a police spokesperson said that the roadways bus is registered in the Lucknow RTO office. Entire matter is being investigated.
