The team of the Commercial Tax Department is monitoring the firms issuing fake bills online. The fraud came to light in both firms on Wednesday. Investigation revealed that the e-way bill was brought from a Delhi firm by M/s Raj Rajeshwari Traders of Loha Mandi. In this, the Delhi firm was investigated and its registration was canceled due to being a bogus firm. Investigation revealed that the company showed sales from the firm in Delhi in billing but never received any purchase of goods. The company has recovered an income tax credit of Rs 3 crore by showing purchases of about Rs 20 crore by this firm. When the team of the Special Research Branch of the department reached the spot, the shutter of the company was found closed and the address of the warehouse was found locked.
At the same time, during the raid at M/s MAV Steel Traders, the team checked the stock of raw material, scrap, and manufactured goods on the spot and also seized the documents.
Aditi Singh, Additional Commissioner of the Commercial Tax Department said that the campaign is being run against tax evaders by forming fake firms. Cases of fraud by two firms have come to the fore. Those who recover ITC of crores of rupees by doing such fraudulent billing are being identified. 25 such firms have been identified in the district. They are being investigated.
