National – On Sunday night, a tragic collision occurred between the Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train (train number 08532) and the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train (train number 08504). In this unfortunate incident, a police officer reported a death toll of at least eight individuals, with another 20 passengers sustaining injuries.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has confirmed that comprehensive rescue operations are currently underway following the train collision between Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger (train number 08532) and Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger (train number 08504). Every passenger has been evacuated, and dedicated response teams have been dispatched. Prime Minister Modi has closely monitored the situation and personally engaged with Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister to ensure a coordinated effort. As of now, the situation remains under control.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) released a statement expressing Prime Minister Modi’s deep condolences to the affected families in the wake of the tragic accident that occurred on the Alamanda to Kantakpalle section. The government is offering extensive support to those impacted, and the Prime Minister has conveyed his wishes for the swift recovery of the injured. Additionally, the PMO announced financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to each of the injured from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
