Maharashtra Raigad Building Collapse – 1 Dead and 60 Rescued
In the Raigad District of Maharashtra, 5 Ground + 4 building collapsed, many people were trapped and one died. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescue teams are at the site and the rescue operation is still underway. The building collapsed on Monday evening.
- According to the police, there are 45 flats in the building.

Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted – The collapse of a building in Raigad, Maharashtra is very tragic. Have spoken to DG @NDRFHQ to provide all possible assistance, teams are on the way and will be assisting with the rescue operations as soon as possible. Praying for everyone’s safety.
Maharashtra Ministers Aditya Thackeray and Eknath Shinde also visited the spot.
Rescue operation is going on continuously from NDRF team at the scene.
In the case of this entire incident, a case has been registered against the contractor and architect of the building, proceedings will also be taken against them.
This morning, Raigad District Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar told news agency PTI that at least eight people had been rescued from the debris. He added that 19 people are missing.
Mr. Shinde also says that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible in this, if any government official in which the call takes place, action will be taken for themself.
The NDRF and the fire brigade are in pursuit of the operation and people are being searched.
