Two students rescued from a deep pit in Mussoorie by SDRF team

In a daring rescue operation, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team rescued two students who had fallen into a deep pit in Mussoorie on Saturday night. The incident took place near the Mussorie-Hathipaon road, where the two students, identified as Utkarsh Kumar and Amarjeet Singh Chauhan, were walking along the roadside. Due to darkness, one of them slipped and fell into a pit about 120 meters deep. The other student tried to save him but also fell into the pit.

The SDRF team was informed by the district control room in Dehradun and they immediately rushed to the spot. The team faced great difficulty in reaching the location due to the pitch darkness, but finally, they were able to reach the pit with the help of a rope. The team then used a stretcher to pull the two students out of the pit and brought them to the main road. The students were then rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance.

Both Utkarsh Kumar and Amarjeet Singh Chauhan are originally from Bihar and are currently studying at an engineering college in Ghaziabad. They had gone to Mussoorie for a vacation. It was fortunate that they were rescued in time, and it serves as a reminder to be cautious while walking along the roadside, especially at night. The SDRF team deserves commendation for their brave efforts in saving the lives of the two students.
