A showroom of electronic goods located at Mod Turn in the Sihani Gate police station area was looted by two miscreants on Sunday night within just two minutes. Fearlessly, the robbers opened the gate of the showroom, waving their gun at a distance of 100 meters from the check post, and went straight into the cash room. They threatened the manager Yogesh Sharma and employee Santosh at gunpoint. The robbers entered around 10:10 pm and escaped within two minutes after completing the heist.
According to the showroom owner, Harsimran Saluja, the manager Yogesh Sharma and employee Santosh were present at the showroom on Sunday night, keeping the entire day’s collection in the locker. It was during this time that the robbers entered and demanded the locker to be opened by pointing their gun at them. Afterward, they filled a bag with cash worth INR 30 lakhs and threatened to kill them before escaping.
Ravi Kumar, ACP Nandgram, said that the crime branch team was also involved in the case along with the local police. An investigation into all aspects of the case is ongoing. The showroom owner was asked to provide a list of recently terminated employees. The CCTV footage from the scene is also being examined. A case has been registered based on the complaint filed by the owner.
