The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its candidates for the positions of Mayor, two Municipal Council Chairs, and two Village Council Presidents. Janaki Jagat Bisht has been nominated as the Mayoral candidate. During a press conference on Thursday, the party’s district president, Dr. Sachin Sharma, made the list of candidates public. He stated that the party will field candidates for the positions of Mayor, Chairman, Councillor, and member in all nine local bodies of the district, including the Municipal Corporation.
The press conference was held at a restaurant located in the Navayug Market. Dr. Sachin Sharma revealed that Anita Kasana has been nominated for the post of Loni Municipal Council Chair, Seema Kamal Mavi from Khoda Municipal Council, Paramjit Devi from Patla Village Council, and Shahnaaz Saifi from Dasna Village Council.
He also mentioned that the party has announced candidates for 67 out of the 100 wards in the Municipal Corporation, and the rest will be announced soon. Janaki Jagat Bisht, who is a teacher by profession and works in a private school, has been nominated for the position of Mayor. She joined the party before being nominated.
This announcement by the AAP has created a buzz in the political circles of Ghaziabad. The upcoming municipal elections are expected to be highly contested, and the nomination of Janaki Jagat Bisht has added an interesting element to the race.
