A man who came to meet his friend from Jahangirpuri area drank alcohol with the friend and then both of them raped a mentally unsound teenager living in the neighborhood and her six-month-old sister. The police admitted the girls to the hospital and started searching for the accused. On Saturday, information was received about an accused being in a park. The accused opened fire on the police team that reached the spot. The police retaliated and opened fire. One bullet hit the accused’s leg. The police caught the accused and admitted him to the hospital. Police have recovered pistol and cartridges from the possession of the accused.

District Deputy Commissioner of Police Brijendra Yadav said that at 7 pm on Friday, the police received information about a six-month-old girl being raped in Libaspur. Police immediately reached the spot. There the police found the girl’s mother. She told the police that she worked in a factory. She has two daughters aged 14 years and six months. Her eldest daughter is mentally unwell and cannot even speak properly. She told that when she returned from work in the evening, her two daughters could not be found in the house. He started looking for his daughters. Then she heard the crying of girls in her neighborhood and she reached there. There he saw Kamal alias Chinu and Raju raping the girls. On seeing him, both the accused fled away. The police took both the girls to the hospital for treatment and then registered a case.

Police formed a team under the leadership of SI Vishal and Sandeep. With the help of informer and technical investigation, the police started in search of the accused. On Saturday morning, the police got information about Kamal being in a park located near Samaypur Badli metro station. On this information the police reached there and asked the accused to surrender. The accused started running after seeing the police team and opened fire on the policemen who were chasing them. To retaliate and prevent the accused from escaping, the police opened fire. A bullet hit his right leg. Police immediately nabbed him and recovered pistol and cartridges from his possession.

During interrogation it was found that the accused is currently unemployed. Raju, who lives in Libaspur, is his friend. On the evening of the incident, he had come to meet Raju at his shop and both of them committed the crime of drinking alcohol. Police is raiding in search of absconding Raju.
