Delhi News | Professor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the country’s prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). With this, JNU has got the first woman vice-chancellor. Dhulipudi was earlier a professor at Savitri Bai Phule Pune University, Pune. His tenure in JNU will be for the next five years.
New Vice Chancellor of JNU
JNU’s new Vice Chancellor Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit Savitri Bai Phule is Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Pune University. Pandit has obtained M.Phil and PhD degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University itself.
She started her teaching career at Goa University in 1988 and moved to Pune University in 1993. Pandit has handled administrative responsibilities working with several institutions. At present she is a member of institutions like University Grant Commission, Indian Council of Social Sciences Research as well as visiting nominee of Central Universities.
