Noida - Yamuna River's Water Level Rises, Villages Face Flood Threat

The rise in water levels can be attributed to heavy rainfall in the mountains, leading to rivers overflowing. Hathinikund Barrage is continuously releasing water, contributing to the increasing water levels of the Yamuna. Administrative officials have expressed concerns that if the water level continues to rise, over 10 villages in Sadar and Jewar tehsils may be affected. Safipur, Momnathal, Tilwara, Motipur, Latifpur, and Makanpur villages in the Sadar tehsil are particularly vulnerable to floods, and special attention is being given to these areas. To aid in the response efforts, 17 flood outposts have been established, and officers have been assigned to oversee them.
