Noida –
The Noida Authority has granted a six-month period to the Uttarakhand Public School to pay off their outstanding dues. The seal on the school was removed on Wednesday evening and regular classes will start from Thursday. This move has brought immense relief to the parents of the students studying in the school. The authority has asked the school to pay the outstanding amount in two installments, failing which the allocation will be canceled.
The Uttarakhand Public School is located in Sector-56, E-1A. In 1991, 3549 square meters of land was allocated to the Uttarakhand Jan Kalyan Parishad for the school. In 1992, possession of the land was taken, with an allocation of Rs. 600 per square meter. The school administration had deposited 20% of the total allocated amount, while 80% of the amount was still pending. The Noida Authority has claimed Rs. 17 crores from the school.
Despite issuing several notices from the authority, the school failed to respond to the dues. On April 24th, the authority had sealed the school. The action had caused distress among the 1500 students studying in the school. However, online classes were initiated for the students, which only a few attended. Last Sunday, the parents had given an ultimatum to the school management to reopen within three days. The management complied, and the seal was removed on Wednesday evening.
The parents of the students studying in the Uttarakhand Public School are pleased with the decision taken by the Noida Authority. They have been troubled due to the closure of the school and the uncertainty of their children’s education. With the school set to resume normal classes from Thursday, the parents can now breathe a sigh of relief.
