The construction work of the runway of Noida International Airport at Jewar has started. On Friday, Tata Projects started work after duly performing Bhoomi Pujan. The company will also construct the terminal building along with the runway.

Officials of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) and Tata Projects participated in the Bhoomi Pujan program on the runway land from Ranhera Chowki on Jewar-Jhajjar road towards Bulandshahr. Niyal and the developer company Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) will review every month with monitoring of construction work etc. So that flights can be started from Noida Airport before the scheduled time of 30 September 2024.

It is important that the first phase of Noida International Airport is being constructed on 1351 hectares of land in six villages of Jewar, Dayanatpur, Rohi, Ranhera, Banwariwas, Kishorpur and Parohi. In October 2020, a 40-year contract was signed between Niyal and developer company YIAPL in Lucknow. Under this, the date of commencement of construction was considered from October 1, 2021. If the flight is delayed, a fine of Rs.10 lakh per day will be levied. Tata has started reaching machinery by setting up its site office near Kishorepur village. Niall CEO Christoph Schnelmann, Tata’s side Sanjay Sharma, Rahul Shah, Ravi Shankar Chandrasekaran, Devendra Sharma, Anshu Gupta etc. were present in the program organized on Friday.
