A sudden fire broke out in a grocery shop in Khora Colony, Ghaziabad at around 8:00 am on Saturday. Due to the fire, there was also an explosion, on hearing the sound of which panic spread among the local people.
Shopkeeper Ashok Prajapati, his son Vivek Prajapati and daughter Aarti Prajapati, apart from 3-4 people have been scorched by the fire in the shop. He was admitted in a critical condition to a nearby private hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
On receiving information, four fire tenders reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. Chief Fire Officer Sunil Kumar Singh says that the gas refilling work was being done illegally in the shop. During this, due to gas leakage, suddenly a fire broke out with a loud explosion. Three cylinders and other items have been recovered from inside the shop.
