Noida News – Sector-10 has 33²²/11 KVA power substation. It is supplied power from a 33 kV line from a 220 kVA power substation located in Sector-20. After the complaints of the consumers, after taking breakdown from the power sub-station, the corporation workers were checking the lines in A block of Sector-10 at around 4 pm on Thursday.
The work was being done under the supervision of JE and SDO Vishwajit Chaudhary. Lineman Mr. Jumrati Ansani was investigating by climbing an electric pole. During this, back current came in the line. He got scorched and got stuck in the line. Other employees put a ladder on an electric pole and with the help of bamboo sticks, the lineman was brought down and admitted to Sector-27 Kailash Hospital. Where the doctors declared the lineman dead.
After the announcement of the death of the lineman, the family created a ruckus at the Sector-10 power substation and demanded a compensation of Rs 20 lakh. After a long uproar, the higher officials of the corporation explained to the family members and gave a check of Rs 5 lakh. After the accident, the lineman’s wife and six children are in a bad condition.
Accident happened due to bank current coming from a company
SDO Vishwajit Chaudhary told that the breakdown was taken from the power substation. Due to not properly earthing of transformer of any company, back current has occurred, which has led to the accident.
