Noida | 06 thieves arrested, 9000 rupees, 02 illegal firearms, 03 cartridges, 04 illegal knives, 02 vehicles (Swift Desire and Pickup) and wire cutting tools recovered from the possession of the accused by stealing copper wire from the power transformer.
Kotwali Dadri Police has arrested six miscreants of the transformer theft gang. The accused arrested near Higher Company Gol Chakkar have been identified as Manzoor, Aas Mohammad, Taufik, Javed, Arif and Suhail, residents of Nai Aabadi.
Manzoor is the leader of the gang. Stolen goods, three pistols, Rs 9000 and two cars have been recovered from the accused. Eight miscreants of the gang are still absconding. Police is searching for the absconding miscreants.
According to the police, valuable equipment was stolen from an electrical transformer on the night of 26 November from Sector JU-2 of Kotwali Dadri area. Police were coming out from the scene by sounding sirens. The thieves fled on seeing the police.
On Sunday night, some accused were roaming around trying to steal the transformer installed near the Haier company roundabout. Everyone started running after seeing the police. Police chased and arrested six accused. While eight miscreants fled. Equipment for theft of power transformers and some other items have been recovered from them. During interrogation, the accused youths told that valuables of the transformer were stolen from Sector JU-2. The gang used to steal power transformers. The leader of the gang is approved. Who used to drive Swift car as a taxi. Inspector-in-Charge said that the absconding Chhota Shakeel used to sell goods.
