Ghaziabad News | Liquor mafia is becoming active in Ghaziabad city. The team of Excise Department has raided the liquor warehouse of various brands of overseas and caught liquor worth crores of rupees. The Excise Department is running a special campaign in the district to prevent the consumption of illicit liquor before the preparations for the Vidhan Sabha elections.

4 Crores worth Liquor

Foreign brand liquor worth four crores was caught from a warehouse in Morta on Meerut road. Liquor was secretly stored here and supplied to other states. Excise department officials and police have arrested four people after raiding. Godown owner Kunal Chawla is absconding from the spot. Officials say that there is neither registration of warehouse nor excise duty of liquor has been given.

The value of the seized liquor is more than four crores. Overseas brands are very expensive. Their price ranges from 9 thousand to 20-25 thousand. Two trucks of Haryana number, Delhi number Ford Eco Sport, Noida number Hyundai i20 car, 50 empty sacks, one sack bundle of blue foil packets, bundles of tape, one rubber band pack, 121 of Glen Fitz Empty boxes have been found.
