In the last seven months, a vicious engineer made a gang and duped about Rs 10 crore from about 500 people. The gang was working by opening a fake center in a rented flat in Janakpuri, Sahibabad. Funds were cleared from people’s accounts by downloading apps on the pretext of making credit cards, updating KYC and increasing the card limit. Sahibabad Police and Cyber Cell have arrested four vicious people, while the kingpin engineer Anand is absconding.
So far, they have duped more than 500 people in Delhi-NCR. 26 mobiles, two laptops, 102 SIM cards, three passbooks, seven ATM cards, three PAN cards, five Aadhaar cards, one iPad mini with Siri and one voter ID card were recovered from them. The vicious told the police that he used to cheat to fulfill the hobbies of expensive mobiles, iPads and girlfriends.
