Punjab – Youth Akali Dal Leader Vikramjit Middukhera shot dead in Mohali

Youth Akali Dal leader Vikramjit Singh Middukheda alias Vicky Middukheda was shot dead in Punjab’s Mohali on Saturday morning. Masked miscreants fired several rounds at the Youth Akali Dal leader. The incident happened around 10.30 am today. Vicky was about to return to his car after meeting a property dealer in Sector 71 when four masked men reached there and fired several rounds. There is an atmosphere of panic in the area due to this murder in broad daylight.

According to the police, the miscreants were following Vicky for a long time. He attacked as soon as he got the chance. Police said the attackers were four in number. Two miscreants opened fire while the other two remained sitting in the car. On seeing the attackers, Vicky tried to run away but the bullets from the miscreants’ guns had pierced Vicky’s body by then.

CCTV footage of this incident has also surfaced, where two miscreants are seen firing bullets at Vicky with guns in their hands. To escape from the guns, Vicky also resorted to the door of the car but all efforts failed.

On getting information about the incident, SSP Satinder Singh and DSP reached the spot. Empty bullet shells have been recovered from the spot. The police is trying to find the clues of the killers through CCTV. The police have suspected some old enmity behind the attack.

It is being told that Vicky himself also had a licensed gun but at the time of the attack it was kept in his car. to which he could not reach. Vicky Middukheda was a popular student leader. He has also been the President of the Students’ Union of Panjab University in Chandigarh. From 2007-08, he remained in Punjab University but in 2013 he joined Shiromani Akali Dal’s Students Organization of India.

Giving information about the matter, Shiromani Akali Dal spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said that the youth wing leader died on the spot. He told that Vicky’s brother Ajay had contested the election of the local municipal corporation recently. The son of former Mohali mayor Kulwant Singh had also contested in this election.
