Delhi | A special CBI court has sentenced RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav to five years’ imprisonment and also imposed a fine of 60 lakhs in a case related to the much-discussed fodder scam. This is a case of illegal withdrawal from Doranda Treasury. Let us inform that in this case 75 accused along with Lalu were convicted on 15 February and 24 were released. Of these, 36 have been sentenced to three years each. At the same time, the rest of the culprits are being sentenced today through video conferencing.

How this scam was executed

Many shocking cases came to light in this scam. In which the story of animals being faked on scooters and motorcycles is included. The case is between 1990-92. The officers and leaders wrote a new story of fraud. It was forgery that 400 bulls were transported from Haryana and Delhi to Ranchi on scooters and motorcycles. That is, in the scam, the vehicle number which was shown by the department to bring the animal, they turned out to be the number of motorcycle and scooter. The CBI found in the investigation that the numbers of scooters, motorcycles and mopeds were given for carrying several tonnes of cattle feed, yellow corn, almonds, cakes, salt etc.

On the sentencing of Lalu Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi said that it had to happen. He tweeted and said, ‘No one was surprised by Lalu Yadav’s sentence of 5 years and a fine of 60 lakhs. It had to happen. Laluji’s chargesheet was done at the time of Dev Gowdaji and the first punishment was done during Manmohan Singh ji. Still trapped, this melody will be chanted.
