what you can do in such a situation?

If the name is not in the voter list, then what will be able to vote?

No, if your name is not in the voter list then you cannot vote in any direction. According to the rules of the Election Commission, no person is allowed to cast his vote, whose name is not in the electoral roll. If such people try to cast their votes forcefully, then legal action will be taken against them.

What if someone else casts your vote?

There is a provision of tender vote in the rules of the Election Commission. Under this rule, on reaching the polling station, if you come to know that your vote has already been cast by someone, then you can challenge it through tender vote. In such a situation, you will have to make a complaint to the Presiding Officer present at the polling station. The Presiding Officer will thoroughly scrutinize the documents attached to you. It will be checked whether the claim you have made is true. If your claim turns out to be true, then the Presiding Officer can get your tender vote cast through the ballot paper. If your claim turns out to be false, you can be handed over to the police on charges of fraud.
