ccording to a statement from a police officer, on September 27th at 12:15 pm, authorities received information about a tragic incident in the Nehru Vihar area—a woman had been found dead in her home. The victim, a 65-year-old woman named Shivkala, was discovered lifeless in her room, and notably, her jewelry remained untouched.
Subsequent investigations have unveiled a disturbing narrative: the perpetrator was an acquaintance of the victim and had entered her residence without any signs of forced entry. The victim had three daughters, all of whom were married, and she was residing alone. A post-mortem examination disclosed that the woman had been brutally murdered the previous night, having endured 25 stab wounds on various parts of her body, including her head, face, and neck.
During the investigative process, the police scrutinized the CCTV footage from the area, which revealed a young man acting suspiciously. This individual was identified and subsequently questioned. His testimony was both shocking and distressing—he alleged that the victim’s daughter, Chintamani, and a neighbor named Ashok Sharma had promised him a sum of Rs 2 lakh in exchange for committing the murder. In the presence of the woman in her home, he carried out the gruesome act using scissors and other sharp weapons, and then hastily fled the scene.
Following the suspect’s revelations, Chintamani and Ashok Sharma were promptly arrested by the police. Further questioning and investigation have unveiled Chintamani’s dire financial situation as a motive behind this gruesome act. She harbored the intention of eliminating her elderly mother to gain control of the house, which she could then sell to alleviate her financial struggles. Her plan involved enlisting the services of Ashok Sharma, a property dealer, to facilitate the sale of the house and secure better accommodation for herself.
