Ghaziabad News – The gangster, arrested by Indirapuram police in a police encounter three years ago, has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment by the Gangster Act Court. The court has also imposed a fine of five thousand rupees on the guilty. During the hearing, the accused Narula accepted his crime, then the court pronounced the verdict in his case, while the trial in the case of the second accused Mehraj is pending.

Assistant District Government Advocate Shyam Singh Nagar has told that Indirapuram police station in-charge was patrolling the area on August 28, 2008 with the police force. He saw two bike riders in suspicious circumstances near the Mewar Institute. The police signaled both the bike riders to stop, but the bike riders fired at the police with their pistols. In retaliatory firing, the police arrested both the miscreants. During interrogation, the miscreants revealed their names as Narula alias Pappu and Mehraj alias Momin. The statement was given that a few days ago a gold chain was robbed from a woman. The police had recovered a pistol, cartridges and a knife from the possession of the miscreants. On Friday, the final hearing of the case was held in the court of Judge Neetu Pathak of the Gangster Act Court. Narula alias Pappu has been sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of five thousand rupees.
