New Delhi Bureau –

The Indian government has given the green light to the Indian Space Policy 2023, which aims to expand the role of the Department of Space and increase the participation of research, academia, startups, and industry in the country’s space sector. This policy outlines the responsibilities of organizations like the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and private sector entities.

During a cabinet briefing, Jitendra Singh, the Minister for State for Science and Technology, stated that the Indian Space Policy 2023 would strengthen the country’s space department and foster growth in research, startups, academia, and industry.

The Indian government’s decision to allow private participation in the space sector, which was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has resulted in the establishment of 150 startups in ISRO within three years.

The Indian Space Policy 2023 is expected to set the groundwork for the country’s space sector for the next ten years. In addition, the Union Cabinet has approved updated domestic gas pricing guidelines. The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Singh Thakur, has stated that the price of natural gas will be ten percent of the monthly average of Indian Crude Basket to ensure pricing stability and offer incentives for increasing production while providing adequate protection to producers from adverse market fluctuations.
