India – One of the Best CEO Mahashay Dharampal Gulati founder of MDH dies at 97.

According to the latest reports, he was undergoing with a treatment at a hospital in Delhi from last few days. His condition deteriorated on Wednesday night and he passed away on Thursday morning because of cardiac arrest.

Mr. Mahashay Dharampal Gulati was born in 1919 in Pakistan’s Sialkot, where his father had set up a small shop. However, after partition in 1947, his family moved to Delhi in India. In 1953, Gulati rented a shop in Chandni Chowk, named it Mahashiyan Di Hatti (MDH), and started selling spices. 

Mr Gulati has started his journey from a local shop in Karol Bagh area. In 1959 Mr Gulati officially established his company. He also bought a place in Kirti Nagar in Delhi and started manufacturing 50+ spices and after that he expand his business to 15+ manufacturing unit and sells his spices across the globe.

Indeed, even at an age where the majority of his friends resign, the 96-year-old makes his day by day round of manufacturing plants, markets, and vendors remembering for Sundays until he is fulfilled everything is all together in the organization where he holds an 80% stake.

Big Achievement by MR Mahashay Dharampal Gulati

He is one of the most famous CEO and MD in Indian companies. Gulati became highest-paid FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) CEO in India in 2017. In 2019, Gulati was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award.

Dharampal also runs Mahashay Chuni Lal Charitable Trust, which facilitates a hospital with 250 beds. It also runs a mobile hospital which reaches out to slum dwellers. Four schools are also being run by this trust, and it provides financial support to people in need.
