Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf, who has officiated in 170 international matches, is now making a living by running a footwear shop. Rauf, who showed his umpiring in international cricket between 2000 and 2013, was also a part of the ICC’s elite panel. During this, he officiated in 49 Tests, 98 ODIs and 23 T20 matches. After this, he was caught in the fixing scandal in the IPL and he was banned for five years. This is where Rauf’s career ended.

In a conversation with a news channel of Pakistan, he said that now he does not watch cricket matches and he is not interested in it. When asked if he watches cricket matches, he said, “No, when I have fed my entire age, then who has to watch now. I have stopped cricket at all after 2013… because I leave the work I do.” I give.”

BCCI banned Asad Rauf in 2016


Asad Rauf was also found guilty by the inquiry committee in the IPL 2013 match-fixing case. After this, the BCCI imposed a five-year ban on him in 2016. He was accused of receiving expensive gifts from bookies. To this he said, “I had my best time in the IPL, until all these problems came.” On the allegation of taking expensive gifts from bookies, Rauf said, “I had nothing to do with them, they came from their side and they took the decision.”

In 2012, a Mumbai-based model had accused Asad Rauf of rape. The model had said that she was in a relationship with Rauf and he had promised to marry her, but later reneged. However, Rauf had denied these allegations 10 years ago. When questioned again on this, he said, “When the girl’s matter came, I had gone to get the IPL done next year also.”

Regarding his shop, Rauf said that he is not running these shops for himself. He is running this shop for his staff members. So that they can earn their livelihood. He and his wife offer prayers five times. One of his sons is differently-abled and the other has recently returned from America after completing his studies. Regarding himself, he said that he has a habit of doing whatever work he does. Go to its peak. He played cricket and went to its peak. After umpiring, he went to his peak.
