Mumbai | Bharat Ratna’s voice Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar is no longer among us. At the age of 92, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last on Sunday (February 6, 2022) at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital on 8 January after suffering from Corona virus, since then she was there. But this long struggle ended on 6 February and Lata Mangeshkar bid farewell to this world.
What happened with Lata Mangeshkar?
Dr. Pratima Samdani, who was treating her at Breach Candy Hospital, informed about the cause of Lata Mangeshkar’s death. She said in a statement that many of Mangeshkar’s organs had stopped functioning, due to which he died. She was admitted to the hospital in January after suffering from pneumonia and coronavirus.

Won many awards and honors
Lata Mangeshkar, who lent her voice to about 25,000 songs in her career spanning almost 78 years, was honored with many awards and accolades. He had won the National Award thrice. Lata Mangeshkar, who captivated people with her melodious voice, was also honored with the prestigious Bharat Ratna and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Let us tell you that Lata Mangeshkar was the eldest of five siblings. Asha Bhosle was younger than him and sister Meena. He also has a younger sister Usha Mangeshkar and brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
